World Breastfeeding Week 2015 – August 1st-7th

Wow, what a turnout!  This year a record breaking 14,889 children were counted breastfeeding for the one minute, worldwide Big Latch On at 10:30am on July 31st and August 1st!  An incredible 654 locations were registered across 28 countries.  Go mamas!

The Big Latch On is a global event organized each year to bring awareness and support to breastfeeding families and to kick of World Breastfeeding Week. Momzelle is very proud to have been involved in over 40 individual events this year.  I was on a camping trip during the Big Latch On, but my son seemed to sense the occasion as he nursed much more than usual that weekend 🙂

I did attend an event with my daughter a few years ago and it was wonderful.  Getting out in the community and sitting among all these other breastfeeding mamas was so encouraging and inspiring.

“These event builds communities, physical and virtual, one latch at a time. They increase support for all families and help to change global culture around breastfeeding. It is really important that we continue to make breastfeeding in public a normal and supported part of having a child. Congratulations to everyone.” says Joanne Edwards, Global Coordinator of The Big Latch On
